So we know we have been bad lately, and haven't updated pretty much at all, so this entry we are attempting to remedy that. And we will try to not get all wordy and dramatic.
This week has gone by so fast, it is unreal. I cannot believe it is already Saturday. Yesterday, while Suzy was at her internship at school, Mary and I took a walk through Dalkey because we both have Fridays off. We walked along the coast through Dalkey and eventually made it to the next town over, Kilkenny, and then pretty much walked in a large circle to get back to Dalkey. But the scenery along the water was incredible and the houses in Dalkey were just to die for. Vera informed me that once we hit Kilkenny, we were very close to Bono's house. Too bad we wouldn't have been able to see it even had we known where it was. Darn high fences.
Today, Suzy and Mary and I went to the National Gallery of Ireland, situated in Dublin City. It was a very nice art museum and was filled with all kinds of good stuff. Once we were sufficiently hungry, we went to Grafton St. to get the two euro baguettes. After watching rediculous music videos in the Subway dining area while eating, we went outside only to be stopped by a street performer juggling seven thousand balls and breathing blue fire bombs out of his mouth!
But the highlight of the day was at dinner at Vera's. Her granddaughter, age 5, was writing a book, The Princess and the Frog, and very sweetly allowed us to read the first few lines of her masterpiece. Then she also graced us with a demonstration of how well she can do joint writing (cursive). Once she wrote her name really big for us, she then wrote "for you" and brought it over to me, then she sat back down and looked up at us and said with her great little Irish accent, "I gave it to you because I like you a tiny bit better than you" and then proceeded to her desk to write more of her book, giggling.
We were rolling.
